So here's a funny one. I was showing off my 2018 Shadow Phantom to my coworker and decided to demonstrate how easy it is to remove the side covers. Easy to remove, harder to put back properly apparently! Now I'm coverless and looking at $200 for OEM replacements on RevZilla and CycleZilla. I've seen cheaper options on Amazon but they're for other Shadow years. Do those $30-$50 covers fit our Phantoms or if I'm wasting my time?

Haha! Those side covers jsut love to vanish! Most of the $30–$50 Amazon options are for older Shadow models like the ACE or Spirit if I remember correctly. If you go aftermarket, double-check the fitment specs or look for listings that mention 2018 Phantom compatibility specifically. Otherwise, OEM might be the safer bet to avoid the hassle.

Thank you for confirming my concerns about the Amazon listings. I had a feeling the fitment for ACE and Spirit models would be different from the Phantom. Paying the OEM price is painful but you are right about it being the safer option to avoid more trouble. Has anyone found a good source for used Phantom parts? Maybe I can get lucky on a salvage site or something similar.
