But they feel kinda chintzy compared to OEM and I'm side-eyeing the finish already. Is this what single-wall pipes all feel like?

I had the same issue on my VTX 1300, the single-wall pipes looked great at first but blued quickly near the headers and felt cheap compared to OEM. Good info about the bluing, which was the next concern. Will keep the exhaust wrap idea in mind.
