We ordered Cobra pipes for my old pal's 2007 Honda Shadow 750 after his stock mufflers rusted out and man did they arrive fast. But they feel kinda chintzy compared to OEM and I'm side-eyeing the finish already. Is this what single-wall pipes all feel like?

Yep, that's the single-wall life right there... in flesh. LOL. Most times the finish doesn't hold up like the OEM double-wall, especially if you ride hard or park your bike out in the sun. I suggest you keep some metal polish handy.

Ha! I had a feeling that was the case thank you for confirming. I will tell my buddy to get some good metal polish for it. Is there any brand you've had good luck with on this type of chrome?

I had the same issue on my VTX 1300, the single-wall pipes looked great at first but blued quickly near the headers and felt cheap compared to OEM. I ended up wrapping them to help with heat and preserve the finish

Good info about the bluing, which was the next concern. Will keep the exhaust wrap idea in mind. Did you wrap the entire pipe or just the section near the engine that was changing color?
